NEFBA Apprenticeship Applications
The apprenticeship program is to formally train electrical helpers in becoming licensed electricians. The program applications typically open in March each year and close in June. Classes begin in August and run similarly to college classes for schedules. Classes are held at night after work two days per week. You must be sponsored by your employer. Anyone interested in joining the apprenticeship program to become a licensed journeyman electrician must complete the 90-day probationary period with Cook Electrical before becoming eligible for sponsorship. This program is paid 100% by Cook Electrical while maintaining employment with our company. Applicants are not guaranteed acceptance into program. Applicants are required to submit 2 letters of recommendation letters and other supporting documents.
Safety Training & Certifications
Safety training is mainly completed through the Northeast Florida Safety Council (NEFSC) to include, but not limited to the following:
- OSHA 10 – Construction Site Safety
- Confined Space Entry
- 1st Aid/CPR/AED/BBP
- Bucket Truck Aerial Rescue
- NFPA 70E Electrical Safety
- Lock Out Tag Out
- Arc Flash
